These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Axle Foundation LLC (“Axle”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of Axle SnapShot and axlesnapshot.com (the “Service”). By creating an account, downloading, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Axle SnapShot is a desktop screenshot and annotation tool that helps you capture, mark up, and send images and notes to AI assistants and other destinations. It is available for macOS and Windows, with optional cloud and connector features.
You must be at least 16 (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.
The Service is offered on a subscription basis through Stripe. Plans, prices, and any free-trial terms are shown at checkout.
AI features require you to connect your own account and API key with a third-party AI provider (for example, Anthropic). You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining that account; for all usage, fees, and charges it incurs; and for complying with that provider’s terms. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, output, accuracy, or charges of any third-party AI provider.
You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights; capture, upload, or share content you do not have the right to use; upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing material; attempt to breach security or access others’ data; reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service except as permitted by law; or interfere with the Service’s operation.
You retain ownership of the screenshots, notes, and other content you create (“Your Content”). You grant Axle a limited, worldwide licence to host, store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, to store snaps you choose to sync, or to generate share links). You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to it.
The Service — including the app, website, and their software, design, and trademarks — is owned by Axle and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service under these Terms. No other rights are granted.
The Service integrates third-party services (such as Anthropic and Stripe). Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AXLE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold Axle harmless from claims and expenses arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or for security, legal, or operational reasons. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Axle Foundation LLC is organised and maintains its principal place of business, excluding conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
